Death ControversyJimi Hendrix was pronounced dead on September 18, 1970. He died in the Samarkand Hotel due to inhalation of his own vomit. Jimi supposedly took 18 times the recommended dosage of a sleeping pill called Vesparax. The news hit the world hard, as you can see in the video to the left. Other stories say that he was murdered by his then girlfriend, Monika Dannemann and his manager, Michael Jeffrey.
